ART-13 Transmitter T-47 Military WWII B-29
Back when PBS was running the documentary "B-29 Frozen in Time," I became fascinated with the B-29, and the radio equipment it contained. I decided to try to collect all the radio equipment that was used in the B-29, and restore it to operational condition (I've been a ham for many years, and fooled around with Command Sets in the sixties). I was able to collect a bunch of things, but it soon became obvious that I had neither the time, nor the space to do this new facet of the ham radio hobby justice. I've now stored this stuff for over ten years, and I realize that I'm just not going to get around to it (I have plenty of other vintage ham boat anchors that are also begging for attention). Reluctantly, I've decided it's time to move some of this stuff along, while there are still folks out there who remember this equipment, and remember how tubes function!

Up for auction is an ART-13, the main liason transmitter used in WWII on the Boeing B-29. I bought this particular ART-13 from Fair Radio Sales. It's in original, military condition, and unmodified. I'm not sure who manufactured this one, but the tag has "A M" on it, with a crown logo (see picture). Could it be Crown Radio? The pictures should give you a good idea of the condition. It's quite clean, although it looks like the top was repainted at some point, and is a bit scratched up as if other things had been set on it. This particular unit does not have the low frequency module. It also appears to be missing the red lens on the front pilot light. Other than that, it appears to be complete. If you buy it and restore it, I'd love to set up a QSO and hear it on the air.

As you can imagine, it's untested, and I'm offering it in AS-IS condition. I have it securely packed in a double box, and it's ready to ship. I don't have a manual to go along with this one, but the ART-13 manual is readily available in .pdf  form on the net.
