50 German Wehrmacht Western Campaign Photos from 1940
These are photos of soldiers and nothing else; no glorification of violence or war, no propaganda, and neither hateful nor discriminatory pictures. No international shipping. 50 authentic German 3D stereoviews produced by the "Raumbild-Verlag Otto Schönstein" in Munich, Germany. According to a standard reference work, these were taken in 1940 during the Wehrmacht's Western campaign in France, entitled "Der Kampf im Westen" (= Caimpaign in the West). On the back of each card is a German description of the particular image in front. The photos are in good condition, only a few of them with creases or scratches and one view was taped. The curling of the cards is a natural or age-related process and does not affect the viewing of the individual images, which, by the way, look a
bit sharper than my photos of them suggest.
Included is a rare original (adjustable) viewer--"Made in Germany"--necessary to experience the 3D effect. It magnifies and adds three-dimensional depth to the photos. The cards measure 5.1 x 2.4 inches, each with two photos (about 2 x 2 inches each--of course, they appear much larger and definitely more detailed through the vintage stereoscope).
