The Blade of this short sword ( Approx . 18 inches long , total sword length with scabbard is approx . 24 - 1/2 inches ) is
sharp as a razor , It is so sharp , it will cut paper . This is the sharpest sword we have ever encountered , and it is the original edge .
it has never been sharpened . it is a high - grade blade made of high - grade steel in the ancient samurai fashion , and is in near perfect condition ,
with no rust nor significant dings.
The handle's textured leather grip is complete with minimal wear for the age , and all of the original wire wrap is intact . The handle and blade are
exceptionally tight , with no slack whatsoever . The leather stop that keeps the metal scabbard from clunking into the handle when puting the sword back into
the scabbard is intact and in very good shape . The sword snaps tightly into the scabbard with the latch working perfectly .
The nickel scabbard is in great condition with no significant dings , which is very unusual for metal scabbards from this period , as this sword was used and not for dress .
overall this sword and scabbard are 95% or better of the original condition , which exceptional for a sword well over 100 years old!!
